- Who is behind the Club of Metalworking?
The Club of Metalworking is an initiative of the VDW and would like to awaken a passion for the world of metalworking. The VDW was established in 1891 as the voice of the German machine tool industry, and is known worldwide for its outstanding expertise.
The employees of the VDW contribute their know-how in diverse national and international contexts. As the organiser, the VDW organises the premier trade fair, the EMO Hannover, the world’s most important innovation showcase for metalworking, as well as the international trade fair for manufacturing technology and automation, the METAV in Düsseldorf.
- Why does the VDW operate the Club of Metalworking for free?
As organizer of international trade fairs EMO Hannover and METAV the VDW provides a platform for the exchange of information and dialogue amongst industry professionals. The Club of Metalworking ties in with this idea and wants to bring experts of industrial manufacturing together.
We are convinced that passion for metalworking is the best instrument to establish our industry as a world leader and inspire young professionals for a career in the machine tool industry. Therefore, we consciously chose free membership with attractive services to equally address all interested parties in our industry, from trainees to skilled workers up to managing directors and owners.
- How often does the newsletter appear, and what content can I find in it?
The newsletter appears at irregular intervals. The contact of the newsletter is dedicated to the world of metalworking as well as the partners of the Club of Metalworking. Whether exclusive technical articles on metalworking technologies, information on important trade fairs or an occasional look outside of one’s own box – as a central communication channel of the Club of Metalworking, our newsletter always keeps you up-to-date.
- Who can become a member of the Club of Metalworking?
Anyone who is interested in the world of metalworking is welcome in the Club of Metalworking. Whether owner, board member or department manager, clerical worker or employee from a functional area (e.g. manufacturing, work scheduling, production planning, design, procurement, R&D), students, scientists or journalists, your profession and level of education are not important to us, but rather our shared passion for metalworking.
- How can I register for the Club of Metalworking?
We would be delighted if you were to join the Club of Metalworking. To register as a new member, enter your professional contact information in the registration form under the menu option Register. Alternatively, you can also register as a member via your LinkedIn profile. If you are already a member in the Club of Metalworking, you can login using the same menu and edit your profile data.
- How can I leave the Club of Metalworking?
You can leave the Club of Metalworking at any time by deleting your free profile. The withdrawal is effective immediately and will be confirmed to you by e-mail. Please note that as of the time of the withdrawal, all services are lost such as, for example, free admission or Easy Access to speed up getting into the fair.
- How long does it take until I receive my membership card?
You will receive your membership card directly in the download area after registration. There you will be offered the membership card personalized as a PDF for download. This takes place automatically and you do not have to make any further entries or payments. You have the possibility to print your membership card directly from anywhere.
