6. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyse this website. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie on the use of this website are usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If the IP anonymization on this website is activated, however, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other countries that are signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to evaluate your use of the website and compile reports on the site activities.

You may adjust your browser software to prevent the installation of the cookies. In addition, you can avoid that the data produced by the cookies in relation to your using the website (including your IP address) are stored and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in that is available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

We use Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()“. As a result, IP addresses are processed in truncated form; with that, it can be excluded that they are linked to a particular individual. We use Google Analytics in order to be able to analyse and constantly improve the use of our website. With the statistics we obtain, we are able to improve our services and make them more interesting for you as the user. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f. GDPR constitutes the legal basis for the use of Google Analytics.

For the exceptional cases where personal data are transferred to the USA, Google has subjected to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. 7. Social Media
In addition to our website, we are present in various social media. At present, you may find us on Facebook, Instagram, Xing, LinkedIn and YouTube.
Please refer to the privacy policy of the respective operator to learn about the purpose and extent of data collection as well as the regulations on the use of your data by the respective platform.

8. Cookies
Furthermore, cookies will be stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your hard drive assigned to the browser you use, and with which the provider of the cookie (i.e. in this case us) receives particular information. Cookies cannot execute programmes or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to render the internet services more user-friendly and more effective as a whole. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR constitutes the legal basis for the use of cookies on our website.

We use session cookies to operate our website. These cookies store a so-called session-ID with which various requests of your browser can be assigned to the joint session. As a result, your computer can be recognized when you return to the website. The session cookies will be deleted when you close the browser.

In addition, we use cookies in connection with the analysis of our website. You may find more information in this regard in lit. 7 above. You may also prevent the use of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser software accordingly. If you refuse the use of Cookies, we point out that you might not be able to use this website to the full extent.

9. Your Rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to the personal data concerning you:

  • Right to information,
  • Right to rectification or erasure,
  • Right to restriction of processing,
  • Right to object to processing,
  • Right to data portability.

In order to assert these rights, please contact our data protection officer at datenschutz@VDW.de. As a matter of principle, the exercise of your rights is free of charge for you.
Moreover, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority on our processing of your personal data.
