705 exhibitors are taking part in this year’s Moulding Expo. Now being held for the third time, the trade fair is becoming established on the market and has found its regular exhibitors who mainly comprise tool, pattern and mould making companies. Moulding Expo is unique since 50 per cent of exhibitors now come from this sector. An increasing number of foreign exhibitors (37 per cent) are discovering the potential of the trade fair. “Moulding Expo has become a permanent fixture in the trade fair calendar for tool, pattern and mould making companies. New ideas are developed, future projects are discussed and new products are therefore actually created at this industry meeting point,” said Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, CEO of Messe Stuttgart. The fact that the industry is focusing more and more on the trade fair with new ideas and projects such as the “Market Report Tool Making” and the fairness initiative fairness + can be regarded as confirmation of the concept.

Presentation at Moulding Expo: first issue of the “Market Report Tool Making”

“The Market Report Tool Making” is an initiative which is being supported by a large number of companies in the industry,” said Jens Lüdtke, Managing Director of Tebis Consulting and a member of the Executive Committee for the project. The initiative was established in order to promote sustainability in the tool, pattern and mould making industry. Comparison opportunities, market transparency and action recommendations will be created through integrated analyses. The participants in the cooperative initiative receive a full individual report on the actual state of their company. “Since it is an industry meeting point, Moulding Expo is the ideal forum to present initial results in an extensive market overview to the widest possible range of trade visitors,” added Lüdtke. As an industry index containing an extensive description of trends and future developments, the overall Market Report will then be published every two years to coincide with Moulding Expo.

fairness+ of the VDMA Precision Tools Association: “an advantage for everyone”

“Tool, pattern and mould makers, suppliers of metal working technologies, buyers and parts manufacturers: because every player in our industry meets at Moulding Expo, it is an ideal setting to present the tool making fairness initiative fairness+,” said Markus Heseding, Managing Director of the VDMA Precision Tools Association. “We give an undertaking here to act fairly in our business relationships and invite our partners along the value-added chain to join us. Because if everyone pulls together, our industries can jointly extend their leading position on the world market.” The VDMA Precision Tools Association wants to use the initiative at the trade fair to provide an incentive for fair collaboration. The VDMA Precision Tools Association is therefore highlighting the advantages of fair relationships between customers and suppliers, and primarily fair contract terms. Ultimately, the objective of fairness+ is to strengthen the competitiveness of every individual link in the value-added chain in order to generate permanent value-added for every partner. “We want”, added Heseding, “to jointly become more competitive and tackle the major challenges in future. The tool and mould making industry can offers its customers a great deal!”
